MLS side New York City FC will reportedly block any chance of Frank Lampard extending his loan move at Manchester City.
The former Chelsea midfielder, who has scored three goals for the English champions so far this campaign, joined City on a six-month loan deal in the summer.
Lampard opted to switch to the Premier League side in order to keep up his fitness before making the move to the United States for the new season next year.
Reports have emerged claiming that City want to extend Lampard's loan beyond January when it is due to expire.
However, according to the Daily Mail, New York, who are owned by City's chiefs, expect Lampard to take part in pre-season training in the New Year.
Lampard left Chelsea as a free agent at the end of last season following a 13-year spell.
