Leroy Sane's contract talks with Manchester City will reportedly be placed on hold after the German suffered a long-term injury.
The Premier League champions have been locked in negotiations with Sane, whose current deal expires in 2021, over a new contract for the past 12 months.
Bayern Munich have sought to take advantage of Sane's situation by launching a bid for the winger, with manager Niko Kovac confirming that talks between the two clubs regarding the 23-year-old had taken place.
According to The Mirror, these talks will be shelved after the winger underwent surgery on a damaged cruciate ligament, which is set to keep him out for seven months.
Sane picked up the injury during the early stages of Man City's win over Liverpool in the Community Shield last weekend.
Bayern appear to have taken their search for a new winger elsewhere, with reports suggesting that the Bundesliga side are on the verge of signing Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan.
