Cristiano Ronaldo will reportedly consider an exit from Manchester United if they fail to qualify for the Champions League.

Manchester United attacker Cristiano Ronaldo could supposedly leave the club should they miss out on Champions League football next term.

The 36-year-old has chalked up nine goals from 12 games in all competitions since returning to Old Trafford, but the Red Devils have failed to produce the goods as a team.

Defeat to Manchester City in Saturday's Premier League derby leaves United sixth in the table after 11 matches - five points adrift of the Champions League spots and three behind fifth-placed Arsenal.

A recent report claimed that Ronaldo was 'alarmed' by Man United's decline since his departure, and The Express states that failure to qualify for Europe's elite competition could see the attacker cut his return short.

Ronaldo already has five strikes to boast from four appearances in the Champions League this term, with the Red Devils level on points with Villarreal at the top of Group F.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner penned a two-year deal with the option of an additional 12 months at Old Trafford upon his summer return from Juventus.
