Chelsea boss Rafael Benitez insists that he will try to shake Sir Alex Ferguson's hand tomorrow after claiming that the Scot rejected his in a previous match.

Chelsea interim manager Rafael Benitez has insisted that he will shake hands with Sir Alex Ferguson when the two meet on Monday afternoon.

The Blues welcome Manchester United in a FA Cup quarter-final replay, with the Spaniard claiming that Ferguson rejected his hand in the original match.

The United boss denied that claim, and Benitez has now said that he will seek to shake hands this time.

"The local manager, which I will be in this case, will look for the away manager to shake his hand," Benitez told reporters.

"But in the other game, if you look at the DVD with all the images, you can see a photographer was talking to him (Ferguson) and he did not look at me. So it was not me.

"I will go anyway and I will try to shake his hand. We will try and do our best, and hopefully not have a situation like that, and we can just talk about football and enjoy the match."

Chelsea take on United at 12.30pm tomorrow.
