Angel di Maria 'major doubt' for Arsenal clash

Angel di Maria is the latest player to join the Manchester United casualty list, and is said to be a major doubt for the meeting against Arsenal this weekend.

Manchester United midfielder Angel di Maria is likely to miss this weekend's Premier League meeting against Arsenal due to an injury sustained on international duty, according to a report.

The 26-year-old took a heavy blow to his foot following a challenge from Portugal's Nani in last night's friendly defeat at Old Trafford, before being replaced on the hour mark.

Di Maria initially played down the injury, but the Daily Star claims that the Arsenal game is likely to come too soon for the record club purchase.

Should the former Real Madrid man miss out at the Emirates Stadium, Red Devils manager Louis van Gaal could be without up to 10 players for the match, with David de Gea, Daley Blind, Radamel Falcao and Marcos Rojo among those nursing injuries.
