Daley Blind suffers knee ligament damage

Guus Hiddink reveals that Manchester United's Daley Blind suffered knee ligament damage in the Netherlands' 6-0 victory over Latvia.

Netherlands boss Guus Hiddink has revealed that Daley Blind has suffered medial ligament damage, claiming that it "doesn't look good" for the Manchester United man.

Blind was substituted after 20 minutes of the Oranje's 6-0 Euro 2016 qualifying win over Latvia this evening following a collision with an opposition player.

Hiddink says that further knee tests are necessary to determine the extent of the damage, but admits that he is pessimistic over the prognosis.

"It doesn't look good," he told reporters at full time. "It's his medial ligament. It could be a strain, but it could also be a tear. So that's a big blow."

Blind, 24, is poised to join an already lengthy injury list at Old Trafford, with Marcos Rojo, Phil Jones, Rafael, Michael Carrick and Jonny Evans all sidelined for manager Louis van Gaal as it stands.
