Antonio Conte would be interested in returning to the Premier League to manage Manchester United if the Red Devils parted with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.
Man United are currently top of the Premier League table after a strong start to the 2021-22 campaign, but they suffered a shock 2-1 loss to Young Boys in their Champions League opener on Tuesday night.
There have again been questions surrounding Solskjaer's suitability for the position at Old Trafford on a long-term basis due to his disappointing record in the Champions League, losing seven of his 11 matches in the competition as head coach.
Conte - recently linked with the Arsenal job - has been without a position since leaving Italian champions Inter Milan at the end of the 2020-21 campaign.
Di Marzio has claimed that the Italian would likely reject interest from Arsenal if he were approached, but the 52-year-old would be interested in taking the Man United job.
"He would only accept a winning project. So I don't think he would accept Arsenal and that is why he said no to Tottenham. I think he would only accept if say Manchester United called," said Di Marzio.
Conte managed Chelsea between July 2016 and July 2018, winning the Premier League and FA Cup at Stamford Bridge before moving on.
