Manchester United's Jonny Evans has denied a Football Association charge over an alleged spitting incident during a game against Newcastle United earlier this week.
The defender is accused of spitting at striker Papiss Cisse during the 1-0 win at St James' Park on Wednesday evening.
Cisse was also charged, but has already admitted that he spat. He has been handed a seven-match suspension.
The FA announced this evening that the Republic of Ireland international has denied any wrongdoing, and that the Independent Regulatory Commission will meet tonight to discuss the case.
It is expected that its decision will be announced tomorrow.
