Evra: Man City didn't deserve title

Patrice Evra believes that Manchester City's last-gasp effort to win the Premier League does not make them worthy champions.

Manchester United defender Patrice Evra believes that Manchester City are undeserved Premier League champions and blames the Red Devils for relinquishing their reign at the top.

The blue half of Manchester ended 44 years of misery by picking up the coveted trophy following a thrilling 3-2 win over Queens Park Rangers on the final day of the season.

"I always say when someone is champions they deserve it," said Evra. "But I can say to myself that we gave the title to City. It was just the last 30 seconds [on the final day] that made City champions.

"The reality is that with six games to go we were eight points in front and for Manchester United not to finish the job makes me really disappointed."

Meanwhile, United striker Wayne Rooney is confident that United will "easily" win back the title next season.
