Louis van Gaal glad to restore 'fortress Old Trafford'

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is pleased that the club have made Old Trafford a fortress again.

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has expressed his delight at the club's home record this season.

The Red Devils have won as many home games as anyone else in the Premier League after losing seven times at Old Trafford under David Moyes last season.

Van Gaal has revealed that restoring the "fear" in visiting teams was one of his goals when he arrived at United.

"I said at the beginning of the season, that we have to be so strong that everybody has the fear to come to Old Trafford," Van Gaal told MUTV.

"I think that we have succeeded in that goal."

Manchester United host Arsenal today and the match can be followed live on Sports Mole by clicking here.
