Juan Mata pleased with "unbelievable" win against Liverpool

Juan Mata believes that he had his best day for Manchester United against Liverpool during their 2-1 triumph at Anfield.

Manchester United playmaker Juan Mata has claimed that his winning display against Liverpool was his best game for the club.

The Spaniard joined from Chelsea last season for £37.1m, but he has struggled to hit the heights that he consistently reached at Stamford Bridge.

Asked if he thought it was his best game in a United shirt, he told Sky Sports News: "I think so. Obviously because of the rivalry it's a massive game in the history of English football, probably the biggest. To come here, win and score two goals is an unbelievable day for me."

United are now five points clear of Liverpool in the race for the top four.
