Jose Mourinho's agent Jorge Mendes has reportedly arranged discussions with Ed Woodward regarding the Manchester United manager's job.
It has previously been speculated that Mourinho had reached an agreement with the Red Devils, which stated that he would be appointed the club's new boss in the summer.
However, a respected publication in the Netherlands claimed yesterday that the current incumbent Louis van Gaal has been given assurances by United officials that he will be allowed to see out the remaining 12 months on his Old Trafford contract.
The Manchester Evening News states that, as a result, 53-year-old Mourinho is now eager for some clarification on the situation.
The report adds that Mendes is to meet with executive vice-chairman Woodward later this week to learn where his client stands.
Mourinho has been out of work since his sacking by Chelsea last December.
