Wayne Rooney's omission against Swansea City results in him becoming an odds-on shot to leave Manchester United.

Bookmakers have slashed the odds of Wayne Rooney departing Manchester United in the summer to around 1/3.

The England international's future at Old Trafford has been the subject of much speculation ever since he was left out of the team that took on Real Madrid in the Champions League in March.

That intensified even further towards the end of last week when reports emerged that he haS informed Sir Alex Ferguson that he wanted to leave at the end of the season.

Today he was left out of the squad for the match against Swansea City altogether, with no injury reported. As a result, the bookmakers have made him odds-on to move on before the start of the new campaign.

Chelsea are the favourites for his signature at 5/2, while German champions Bayern Munich are a 4/1 shot as are Paris Saint-Germain.
