Thomas Vermaelen: 'Eden Hazard will be a big draw'

Thomas Vermaelen thinks that international teammate Eden Hazard will make a big impression on the Premier League.

Thomas Vermaelen believes that international teammate Eden Hazard will bring in big crowds when he eventually makes his move to England.

The sought-after Belgian yesterday ended his long-running transfer saga when he announced that he was going to sign for Champions League winners Chelsea instead of either Manchester United or Manchester City, who had both been interested in his services.

Vermaelen, who is currently training with Hazard ahead of Belgium's friendly with England this weekend, thinks that the Lille attacker will attract a lot of attention when he makes his much-anticipated debut Premier League debut.

"He is a great player with a lot of special qualities," Vermaelen told Sky Sports News.

"I think he is a player people go to the stadiums for. People will love him and love watching him playing football, so I think he is a good player for the Premier League.

Reports claim that Hazard has been handed a £5m-a-year deal by the Blues but Chelsea have yet to confirm that they have reached an agreement with the player.
