Former Manchester United forward Dwight Yorke believes that Gus Poyet's defence of Liverpool striker Luis Suarez regarding his racism charge is without merit.
The Brighton & Hove Albion manager accused Red Devils defender Patrice Evra of "crying like a baby" when referring to his reaction after Suarez's alleged racist remark.
"I can't agree with some of the comments," said Yorke. "I know we all come from different cultures and countries but to be calling someone a 'negro' in a different country is just not acceptable.
"We are now in the 20th century, we have moved on. There are a lot of different cultures living in society today. There is no way you have the divine right to call anyone any sort of names. That is not in the context of the world that we are living in at the moment.
"You can't go around calling people a black such and such or a white such and such or an Indian such and such or a Chinese such and such. That is forbidden in the world we live in now."
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has also criticised Poyet's remarks.
