Wilfried Zaha rediscovering confidence at Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha admits that his confidence was left wrecked by his unsuccessful spell at Manchester United and is relieved to be back at Selhurst Park.

Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha has admitted that his confidence was left wrecked by his unsuccessful spell at Manchester United.

The 22-year-old made only four first-team appearances after making a £15m move to Old Trafford in 2013 and was loaned to Palace for the first half of this season.

He is now back at Selhurst Park permanently, and Zaha's morale is benefitting from a more homely environment.

"If you're not playing, it's just, 'what am I doing?' Not playing at all hit my confidence but now I am playing again," he told reporters.

"There were other clubs interested but in my mind I wanted to come back to Palace. It is somewhere I like and it's definitely the club I want to be at.

"I am back home. Everything is local to me, my family my friends. I just play football and go home with a smile on my face."

Zaha has made 21 appearances in all competitions for the Eagles this season, scoring one goal.
