Hull City confirm James Weir capture

Hull City confirm the arrival of midfielder James Weir from Manchester United for an undisclosed fee.

Hull City have confirmed the arrival of midfielder James Weir from Manchester United.

Weir, who was the skipper of Man United's Under-21 team, made his first-team debut for the Red Devils last season, but it is understood that he was considered surplus to requirements by Jose Mourinho following the Portuguese's arrival this summer.

The 21-year-old has signed a three-year contract with the Tigers after joining for an undisclosed fee.

Former Man United assistant Mike Phelan is currently in interim charge of Hull.
