The future of Benfica striker Darwin Nunez hinges on the outcome of the Champions League final between Liverpool and Real Madrid on Saturday, according to a report.

The future of Benfica striker Darwin Nunez has become dependent on the outcome of the Champions League final between Liverpool and Real Madrid, according to a report.

Nunez has been heavily linked with a move away from the Primeira Liga side this summer following an exceptional 2021-22 campaign for the Lisbon side.

Manchester United are said to be one of the sides most interested in a potential move for the Uruguayan in the coming weeks, as well as Champions League finalists Liverpool and Real.

Now according to a report from Portuguese outlet Record, the result of the showpiece in Paris could prove pivotal in deciding the 22-year-old's future in the upcoming transfer window.

The report continues with how both clubs have been made aware of Nunez's €100m (£85m) price tag by Benfica, and that the striker's move will be decided following the game.

Nunez has shot to the top of numerous clubs' shopping lists in the upcoming transfer window, as a result of him scoring 32 goals and registering four assists in 38 appearances for Benfica across all competitions in 2021-22.
