Numerous reports in Spain have claimed that Manchester United have reached an agreement to sign Ander Herrera from Athletic Bilbao.
The Premier League champions failed with a bid, reported to be worth £25m, for the midfielder on Friday, which was believed to have ended their pursuit.
However, the 24-year-old was left on the bench for Bilbao's ongoing La Liga clash against Real Madrid today, which has resulted in the rumours that a deal has been struck.
The speculation in the player's homeland has suggested that Herrera could fly to England as early as this evening for discussions over personal terms and a medical, with the transfer potentially being announced tomorrow.
It is believed that the release clause in Herrera's contract is worth £30m.
