Last month, it was claimed that United had developed an interest in Embalo, with the 16-year-old having impressed in the youth sides at Benfica.
According to Record, United have now met Benfica's demands for the teenager, who will allegedly cost in the region of £5m.
Real Madrid were also said to be admirers of the prospect, but United are seemingly primed to confirm an agreement with the Portuguese giants.
