Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly identified Stoke City winger Xherdan Shaqiri as a possible summer signing.
Shaqiri impressed for the Potters last season, contributing eight goals and seven assists in 36 Premier League appearances, but it was not enough to prevent the Staffordshire-based club from being relegated from the top flight.
A clause in Shaqiri's contract means that he is allowed to leave Stoke for a fee of £12m before the new campaign, and a number of clubs - including Liverpool - have allegedly expressed an interest.
However, according to The Sun, United are ready to make their move with Mourinho interested in signing the Switzerland international for a cut-price fee.
Mourinho is well-stocked in attack but the uncertainty surrounding the future of Anthony Martial means that the Portuguese may need to enter the market for a new wideman.
Shaqiri has already revealed that he wishes to remain in the Premier League.
