Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly ready to turn his attention to signing a new central midfielder.
The Premier League giants are said to be on the verge of signing Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane, who will join Jadon Sancho in making the switch to Old Trafford.
United have also been heavily linked with Atletico Madrid right-back Kieran Trippier as they search for competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
However, according to the Manchester Evening News, Solskjaer will instead prioritise bringing in a fresh face for the centre of midfield.
The decision comes at a time when Paul Pogba is contemplating whether to take on a new challenge now that he has entered the final 12 months of his contract.
West Ham United's Declan Rice, Atletico's Saul Niguez and Rennes' Eduardo Camavinga are all said to be on Solskjaer's list of potential replacements.
