Manchester United reportedly decide to make an offer of £54m to sign Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar.

Manchester United have reportedly decided to up their interest in Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar.

United have been chasing a new centre-back since the summer, but the Premier League giants are still searching for a fresh face for the middle of their backline.

A number of players have been linked with a switch to Old Trafford, but according to Tuttomercatoweb, United have made an approach for Skriniar.

The report claims that United have bid £54m for the Slovakia international, who has been hugely impressive during his 18 months at San Siro.

Skriniar still has three-and-a-half years remaining on his contract, although it has been suggested that Inter may be tempted into a sale should they receive a big offer.

Chelsea and Barcelona have also been previously linked with a move for Skriniar.
