Manchester United are considering allowing Brandon Williams to leave the club on loan during the January transfer window.
The 20-year-old was a regular for the Red Devils during the 2019-20 campaign, making 36 appearances in all competitions, while he penned a new long-term contract at Old Trafford in August.
Alex Telles's arrival from Porto has seen Williams struggle for action this term, though, with the youngster only featuring on five occasions in all competitions and just once in the Premier League.
Southampton and Newcastle United have both been linked with moves for the full-back, and United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed that the club are open to the England Under-21s international leaving on a short-term basis at the start of 2021.
"That's something we'll look at in January but we highly rate Brandon so whoever's interested, they're not wrong," Solskjaer told reporters. "Brandon has done really well since he came into the team. He had a slow start to the season for different reasons.
"I think he's now coming back to more like himself. I can see more Brandon being Brandon again. I've enjoyed him more in training, he's played a couple of 23s games and he has been more involved."
Williams was not involved in United's goalless draw with Manchester City on Saturday.
