Manchester United have reportedly turned their attentions to Benfica defender Ruben Dias after being effectively priced out of a move for Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly in this summer's transfer window.
United are widely expected to spend big on a new central defender ahead of the 2019-20 campaign.
Koulibaly has long been linked with a switch to Old Trafford, although it is understood that the Red Devils recently had a £95m bid rejected for the 27-year-old.
According to the Daily Star, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have now switched their focus to Dias, who scored four times in 55 appearances for Benfica during the 2018-19 season.
Earlier this month, it was claimed that Benfica had placed a £52m value on Dias after learning that United had scouted the nine-time Portugal international earlier this season.
Dias, 21, came through the youth system at Benfica and has gone on to make 85 first-team appearances.
