Manchester United forward Anthony Martial has revealed that both Juventus and Barcelona were in the mix to sign him during the January transfer window.
The 26-year-old struggled for regular action at Old Trafford in the first half of the 2021-22 campaign and joined Sevilla on loan in the latter stages of the winter market.
Martial has said that Juventus and Barcelona both made contact with his agent over a mid-season move, but the France international was only interested in making the move to Estadio Ramon.
"It's true. Juventus tried to sign me. I was talking to my agent and told him I preferred to go to Sevilla. It was the best option for me and my family. FC Barcelona talked to my agent, but as I said, I spoke with my agent and told him: "My priority is Sevilla." And when I say something to someone, I don't change it. I keep my word," Martial told Diario de Sevilla.
"I have less salary, but I also know that paying my salary is an effort for the club. So we've both made an effort, but I know this effort will be good for both parties.
"At the moment, we are only here for four months. I have a contract with Manchester United (until 2024), but as I said before, in football, you never know."
Martial made his Sevilla debut against Osasuna on February 5, playing 77 minutes of their goalless draw in Spain's top flight.
