Real Madrid are reportedly determined to lure Manchester United keeper David de Gea away from the club this summer.
The Spanish international is said to have caught the eye of Los Blancos with his performances over recent months.
However, The Mirror claims that the European champions are ready to step up their pursuit of the former Atletico Madrid shot-stopper.
With current Real keeper Iker Casillas widely expected to leave the Bernabeu this summer, the Spanish giants are said to have contacted De Gea's representatives and are eager to appoint him as his successor.
Manchester United are not thought to be willing to let De Gea go easily and it is understood that manager Louis van Gaal is confident of getting the 23-year-old to extend his stay at Old Trafford.
United have already agreed to sign fellow Spaniard Victor Valdes on an 18-month deal this week.
