Report: Atletico Madrid enter Alexis Sanchez race

A report claims that Atletico Madrid want to sign Barcelona attacker Alexis Sanchez.

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has reportedly entered the race to sign Barcelona attacker Alexis Sanchez, who is widely expected to leave the Camp Nou this summer.

The Chilean international has been strongly linked with a move away from Barca in recent months, with Manchester United, Liverpool and Juventus all believed to hold an interest.

However, according to AS, Atletico want to keep the 25-year-old in La Liga.

It is understood that Simeone is in the market for a statement signing this summer, with leading scorer from last season Diego Costa on the cusp of signing for Chelsea.

Sanchez is currently with his national team at the World Cup.
