Manchester United are reportedly considering a move for Southampton left-back Ryan Bertrand.
The Red Devils have failed to find a long-term solution for the role in the past few seasons, with Daley Blind, Matteo Darmian and Luke Shaw all being used in the team.
According to The Sun, however, United chiefs believe that Southampton's Bertrand is an ideal candidate for the position, with the England international allegedly high up on the club's list of potential targets.
The newspaper adds that a deal would be significantly easier to pull off if the Saints, currently three points adrift of safety, are relegated from the Premier League this term.
United signed Shaw from Southampton at the end of the 2013-14 campaign for £27m.
