Steven Taylor ruled out for remainder of season with ruptured Achilles

Newcastle United defender Steven Taylor is ruled out for the remainder of the season with a ruptured Achilles tendon.

Newcastle United caretaker manager John Carver has revealed that defender Steven Taylor is likely to miss the remainder of the season with a ruptured Achilles tendon.

The 28-year-old had given his side the early advantage against Burnley in their Premier League clash at St James' Park, but his afternoon was cut short when he limped off after an hour.

His absence rocked the Magpies, and after witnessing his team eventually draw 3-3, Carver announced in his post-match press conference that Taylor would be absent for several months.

Taylor has made just 12 appearances in all competitions during the current campaign.
