Remy Cabella: 'I need to start performing'

French winger Remy Cabella admits that he needs to start performing for Newcastle United.

Newcastle United winger Remy Cabella has admitted that he needs to start performing for the team.

The summer signing from Montpellier has been on the bench for the Magpies' last three games following an underwhelming start to his career in England.

Despite being out of the starting XI in recent weeks, Cabella insists that he is enjoying life in the Premier League and is determined to improve.

"Alan Pardew has spoken to me a lot. He has made things clear. He tells me when I am on the bench if things are good or not," Cabella told L'Equipe. "He wants me to be decisive and score goals. I haven't done that so far. That's why I haven't been playing a lot.

"Now I am only thinking about scoring, but I don't feel any pressure, that would be pointless. I am just here to play football. I am having so much fun in England. It is a new challenge in a new league, so of course I need some time to adapt."

Newcastle are in action tonight (Wednesday) when they travel to holders Manchester City in the fourth round of the League Cup.
