Newcastle United defender Fabricio Coloccini is hoping that his hamstring injury will not keep him out of action for too long.
The Argentine sustained the problem during yesterday's 3-1 win over West Bromwich Albion.
Despite not knowing the extent of the damage, Coloccini has revealed that he will do all he can to keep the number of matches he misses to a minimum.
"It's very disappointing. I don't know how bad it is yet," Colocconi told the Evening Chronicle. "I have a scan on Tuesday, and I hope it's not bad. We'll see. Maybe I will miss the Liverpool game. If it's a little strain, it'll be 10 days. But I will give everything to be there on the pitch.
"Of course, I don't want to take a risk. Maybe I get a worse injury if I take a risk, and could be out for three or four weeks.
"We'll see what happens. I always want to play - we'll see what the scan says."
The 30-year-old has made 29 appearances this season.
