Former FIFA vice-president Lennart Johannson thinks that it is time for Sepp Blatter to leave his post as president of the world governing body.
Johannson, who lost the 1998 presidential election to Blatter, believes that the Swiss administrator should not be "dictating" what goes on in global football.
"It cannot be that only one man should be dictating and taking all the decisions about world football," Johannson told BBC World Service. "There is not much more to do than to get rid of the man in question.
"[Head of UEFA Michel Platini] is to me closer to what I was looking for. He has tried to be fair, he's open-minded, he allows discussions and he obeys decisions made by the majority".
Blatter has been known to cause controversy with his rash comments. More recently the 75-year-old shocked the world of football by stating that racism can be solved on the pitch with a handshake.
