Chris Hughton has made it clear that Ricky van Wolfswinkel will be taking future Norwich City penalties following Robert Snodgrass's miss against Aston Villa this weekend.
With the score goalless in the first half, Snodgrass saw his spot kick saved by Brad Guzan in a match that the Canaries went on to lose 1-0 courtesy of Libor Kozak's maiden strike for the Villans.
"Sometimes you will have somebody who's very confident and you want confident players," Hughton told BBC Radio Norfolk.
"You want players who appear to take opportunities, who thrust themselves forward. We all know if the penalty is scored then we're not even talking about it.
"It's something we have spoke about and something we'll learn from. Ricky will take penalties."
Van Wolfswinkel, who is Norwich's club-record signing following his £8.6m arrival from Sporting Lisbon in the summer, scored on his debut for the Carrow Road outfit.
