The Philadelphia Union can take a big step towards an Eastern Conference semi-final berth when they host the New England Revolution on Saturday at Subaru Park in the first game of that best-of-three series.
Philly finished fourth in the MLS Eastern Conference this year despite losing to the Revs on the final matchday 2-1, with New England winding up fifth due to an inferior goal difference.
We say: Philadelphia Union 2-1 New England Revolution
The Union were unbeaten in 16 of their 17 MLS home contests this season, conceding just 13 goals over that stretch, and they are more than accustomed to handling these pressure situations.
New England may have won their previous playoff matchup at Subaru Park (1-0 in 2020), but they leave too many gaps in behind, which the home side should be able to exploit.

Los Angeles vs. Vancouver (Sunday, 1.00am)

Los Angeles FC begin defence of their MLS Cup when they host the Vancouver Whitecaps in the opening game of a best-of-three series on Saturday at BMO Stadium.
These two teams played to a 1-1 draw on Decision Day as the Black and Gold wound up third in the Western Conference table, four points above the Caps, who were sixth.
We say: Los Angeles FC 1-1 Vancouver Whitecaps (Vancouver win on penalties)
From the outset of the 2023 MLS campaign, LAFC have had a target on their back, and although they finished the season strong, they have played a lot more games than most MLS sides this year, making the CONCACAF Champions League final, the Leagues Cup quarter-finals and also competing in the Campeones Cup, all of that to say they may be a little fatigued.
The Whitecaps are not the same team that the LA saw at the CONCACAF Champions League this year, and their quick ball movements and pace could be difficult for the home side to handle, while the pressure on them will not be nearly as heavy as what the expectations are for Los Angeles.
