The visitors were first to threaten when, four minutes in, Luiz Gustavo leapt high in the box to connect with a cross, but his effort sailed just over the crossbar.
Three minutes later the opposition weighed in with a chance through Luuk de Jong's header from a cross, but Wolfsburg goalkeeper Diego Benaglio pulled off a reflexive save to keep the effort out.
Ricardo Rodriguez then curled over from a free kick in the 12th minute, while Bas Dost fired straight at Jeroen Zoet midway through the first half.
Despite both sides continuing to push forward, with Jeffrey Bruma coming close with a long-range shot and Jurgen Locadia nodding wide of the post, neither side could open their tally come the break.

Philip Cocu's charges upped the ante come the restart and were rewarded five minutes before the hour as Locadia collected De Jong's pinpoint pass inside the box and showed good composure to bury the ball inside the left post.
Wolfsburg struggled against the galvanised hosts and nearly conceded again in the 71st minute when Luciano Narsingh's ball into the box was nodded just wide of the left post by Adam Maher.
With seven minutes left to play, Naldo beat two defenders before firing a drive from just outside of the box that Zoet kept out, but three minutes later PSV made sure of the win when De Jong spotted Benaglio off his line and chipped the ball into the net.
The result sees the Eredivisie giants leapfrog Wolfsburg into second place in Group B.
