Barcelona head coach Xavi has lavished praise on Fermin Lopez for his performance in Wednesday's 2-1 win over Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League.
Ferran Torres made the breakthrough in the 28th minute of the European contest before Fermin got his name on the scoresheet in the 36th minute.
Shakhtar had one back in the 62nd minute through Heorhii Sudakov, but Barcelona managed to hold firm at the back to pick up an important three points in their bid to reach the knockout round.
Fermin has become a first-team player for the Catalan side this term, featuring on eight occasions in all competitions, scoring twice and providing one assist.

The 20-year-old has now put himself in contention for a starting role against Real Madrid in El Clasico this weekend, and Xavi lavished praise on the Spaniard for his display on Wednesday.
"I'm happy for Fermin Lopez. He's working very well, he has the skills. I like him. We'll see for Saturday, for now we'll enjoy... He's scoring goals," Xavi told reporters during his post-match press conference.
"I really like Fermin Lopez. He is a player who could be at Barcelona for many years. These are very big words."
Fermin starred on loan at Deportivo Linares last season, finding the back of the net on 12 occasions, before returning to Barcelona for the start of pre-season training.
"I am happy that I helped achieve the goal. With Xavi, I feel comfortable, and I feel good in the midfield," the youngster told Marca following the contest with Shakhtar.

"Now, I am thinking about El Clasico. The coach is the one who decides who starts and I will be ready for whatever comes. The feeling I am experiencing right now is unimaginable. I am fulfilling a dream and I am so grateful for that.
"Imagine being at home, and all the fans applauding you, it's something I could never imagine. I feel very loved by everyone."
Fermin started alongside Oriol Romeu and Ilkay Gundogan against Shakhtar, with Gavi not available for selection though suspension.
Frenkie de Jong, Pedri and Sergi Roberto are the midfield options currently on the sidelines through injury, and it is unlikely that any of the trio will be fit for El Clasico this weekend.
