Carlo Ancelotti has turned down the chance to return to AC Milan as manager.
The 55-year-old suggested this evening that he wants to take a break from football after he was sacked by Real Madrid last week.
As a player, Ancelotti won the European Cup twice with Milan in 1989 and 1990, and also led the Rossoneri to European glory twice as a manager in 2003 and 200 during his seven-and-a-half-year reign last decade.
However, he is not interested in returning to San Siro at the moment.
"Thanks to @acmilan for their support interest," he tweeted this evening. "It was hard to say no to such beloved club to me but I need some rest. I wish them the best."
Ancelotti and former Liverpool boss Bob Paisley are the only managers to have won the European Cup on three occasions.
