Real Madrid's Xabi Alonso: 'I had no offer from Chelsea'

Xabi Alonso reveals that he did not receive any offers from Chelsea before signing a new Real Madrid contract.

Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso has revealed that Chelsea never approached him about moving to Stamford Bridge.

The Spain international was reported to have a possible reunion with former manager Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge, but Alonso has insisted that it was not an option.

Despite speculation that he could return to the Premier League, Alonso opted to sign a fresh two-year contract at the Bernabeu.

"There was no offer," BBC Sport quotes Alonso as saying. "[Mourinho and I] have a good relationship but he never said anything about going to Chelsea."

Alonso was also linked with a return to his former club Liverpool.
