Schalke striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has revealed that he will hold talks with the club soon over a new contract.
The Dutch international's current deal is due to expire next summer, but he now wants to extend his terms and take on "more responsibilities" at the Veltins-Arena.
"I am keen to open talks with Schalke. We will meet either in the upcoming weeks or months to discuss a contract extension," the 28-year-old told reporters.
"I want to play an important role at Schalke. I'm ready to take on more responsibilities."
The German club are expected to offer Huntelaar a three-year deal.
