Sheffield Wednesday manager Stuart Gray has admitted that he is "desperately trying" to strengthen his squad before the transfer window slams shut.
The Owls maintained their unbeaten start to the Championship season with a 3-2 victory over Middlesbrough earlier today at Riverside, although Gray says that additions are still needed in what promises to be a gruelling campaign.
"I am pushing for a bigger squad," the 54-year-old is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "I am carrying only 20 outfield players, which is not going to be enough.
"We're desperately trying to get players in but you're relying on other clubs to let players go on loan. We have a few targets but unfortunately we are what we've got at the moment. But one thing I do know is that we're going to have to add to that squad."
Wednesday, who are now sixth in the Championship table, face Barnsley in the League Cup on Tuesday night.
