Ronald Koeman says Charlie Austin remains out injured for Southampton

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman says that Shane Long will feature against Stoke City, but Charlie Austin will remain absent for the game at the Britannia Stadium.

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has said that Charlie Austin will not return to the squad until after the international break.

Austin, who signed from Queens Park Rangers in January, suffered a hamstring injury against Bournemouth last week, but there is better news on Shane Long, who hobbled off during the same fixture.

At his pre-match press conference ahead of the game against Stoke City, the 52-year-old said: "He will be out for another 10 days to two weeks. You know the schedule so he should be available after the international break.

"Shane is available. He has trained the whole without any problem with his injury, so he can play."

The Saints will replace Stoke City in eighth position should they win at the Britannia Stadium.
