Ronald Koeman: Southampton balance "really poor"

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman believes that the balance between his team's attacking and defending is "really poor".

Ronald Koeman has described the balance between Southampton's attacking and defending as "really poor" ahead of their match against Aston Villa in the Premier League.

The Saints have suffered back-to-back defeats in the league, and were thrashed 6-1 by Liverpool in the quarter-finals of the League Cup last night.

The manager said at his pre-match press conference: "In the last few weeks, one of our qualities, we know we can play good football, the start was fantastic, we can create, we can score, but the balance at the moment between attacking and defending is poor, is really poor."

Southampton sit 10th in the table ahead of the visit of Remi Garde's side on Saturday.
