Jordi Alba has insisted that he knew he would score in the Euro 2012 final.
The full-back added the second as Spain claimed their third consecutive major tournament crown on Sunday as they outclassed Italy 4-0 in the Euro 2012 final in Kiev.
The new Barcelona signing is thrilled to have contributed to La Roja's success.
"My teammates made history before and now I am doing so together with them in my first European Championship," said Alba.
"I am struggling to believe it, but it seems to be sinking in little by little.
"I told my friends and family I was going to score tonight and that's the way it turned out."
Spain became the first side in history to win a major tournament final by a four-goal margin.
