Former Spain midfielder Marcos Senna has admitted that "it's a time of transformation" for La Roja.
However, the New York Cosmos midfielder believes that Spain boss Vicente del Bosque is performing the overhaul correctly by keeping experienced players in the squad.
"It's a time of transformation. Spain has a very good base of players and those who have been brought in are all first choice regulars with their respective clubs and they're great players too. Del Bosque has got it right to gradually revamp the side," he told AS.
"It would be a mistake to perform a radical overhaul – [Iker] Casillas, [Andres] Iniesta and company are key pieces of the team."
Senna also recently revealed a desire to return to former club Villarreal in the future.
