Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur is set to be sidelined for three weeks with an adductor injury that he picked up at the 2022 World Cup.
The 25-year-old started all three World Cup group games for Uruguay, but he was forced off after 34 minutes during Friday's 2-0 win over Ghana.
Although the South Americans won their final group match, Bentancur and his Uruguayan teammates were eliminated following South Korea's 2-1 victory over Portugal.
According to the Evening Standard, Bentancur sustained an adductor injury, which is expected to keep him out of action for three weeks.
The Uruguay international will hope that he can return in time for Tottenham's Premier League meeting with Brentford on Boxing Day.
He has been a prominent figure in Antonio Conte's side this season, registering five goals and two assists in 21 appearances across all competitions.
