Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas reveals that Brad Friedel will start in goal ahead of new French shot-stopper Hugo Lloris against Reading this weekend.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has revealed that Brad Friedel will start in goal over new signing Hugo Lloris this weekend.

The North London outfit acquired the signature of the shotstopper from Lyon before the close of the summer transfer window, which prompted speculation that Friedel could be edged out of the number one position.

Villas-Boas caused controversy with Lloris after claiming that Friedel would not be pushed out and the Frenchman responded by saying that he would hold talks with the Portuguese coach over his status in the team.

It now appears that the former Chelsea boss is sticking with Friedel after revealing in a press conference that the American shotstopper would start against Reading this weekend.
