Martin Jol believes that his side didn't deserve to lose after going 3-1 down at home to Tottenham Hotspur.

Fulham manager Martin Jol believes that his side didn't deserve to lose after their 3-1 defeat at home to his former club Tottenham Hotspur.

Despite a glut of chances, a Man of the Match performance from Spurs keeper Brad Friedel limited Jol's side to just one goal at Craven Cottage.

"I thought we deserved at least a point," said the Dutchman. "Tottenham had three attempts on goal in the first half and scored two goals.

"We must have had 26 or 30 attempts after half-time. He (Friedel) was probably the best player on the pitch, but if you don't score then you have a problem."

Jol was also aware of the applause in his direction from the travelling Tottenham supporters.

"Of course I heard the applause from the Tottenham fans," he added. "But I don't want to make a meal of it. I'm happy here."

The result has left the Cottagers in 16th place in the Premier League table.
