Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is hopeful that he will be afforded a starting spot in the Premier League after scoring his seventh goal of the season.
The 21-year-old found the net 15 minutes from time in Spurs' 2-0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion in the League Cup last night to see him move further ahead as the club's top scorer this season.
However, Kane must continue battling against Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado for a place in the first team at Aston Villa this weekend.
"I'm always happy to be scoring and getting those goals inside the box; those strikers' goals are always good," Kane told SpursTV following the Brighton match.
"It is a good return but I'm concentrating on the next game now and hopefully I will get some minutes and get some goals. These are the sort of games I want to be scoring in and getting myself out there, I always enjoy playing – I just want to keep playing and keep scoring."
Kane has yet to score in the Premier League this season in five appearances.
