Tottenham Hotspur technical co-ordinator Tim Sherwood reportedly convinces chairman Daniel Levy to appoint Andres Villas-Boas as the club's new manager.

Tottenham Hotspur technical co-ordinator Tim Sherwood has reportedly told chairman Daniel Levy that Andres Villas-Boas would be his preferred choice as the club's new manager.

Sherwood is expected to be promoted to the position of director of football and work closely with Harry Redknapp's replacement.

Spurs are understood to have narrowed their targets down to a shortlist of three - Villas-Boas, Ralf Rangnick and Laurent Blanc - and, when asked for his input, Sherwood chose the former Chelsea boss as the man that he wanted to work with most, according to The Mirror.

The newspaper are also reporting that Sherwood has convinced Levy that Villas-Boas is the best man for the job and the club hope to appoint the Portuguese once the terms of his severance agreement with Chelsea expire at the end of June.
